Pomegranate Berry Smoothie


Now that the holidays are over, here at the Dell house we are left with wonderful holiday memories and one heck of a cold. Family + Holidays = Sickness. A small price to pay for spending quality time with your loved ones, but not my favorite way to kick off the new year. Sickness and eating like we've been on an all-inclusive vacation for the last two weeks probably isn't the best combination, time to start eating better. 

To start things off I made a pomegranate-seed berry smoothie. Pomegranates were a treat in my house growing up, as kids we would eat them at the table picking each seed out with a pin, which of course took forever. I'm not sure if it's a British method of eating them or just my family being weird. Pomegranates are also great for colds, you can even make a sore throat remedy by using pomegranate peels to make a tea. You can find out how here. You can either drink the tea or gargle it. 


To make the smoothie you'll need:

1/2 cup pomegranate arils (seeds)
1/2 cup blackberries
1 cup frozen raspberries 
1 cup soy milk 
1 tbs honey   

Place all your ingredients in your blender and blend on high for around 60 seconds or until the seeds are well blended. Enjoy!
